10 Romantic Movies of 2011 ...

By Jelena

The laughs, the drama, experiencing the happy ending and almost bursting into tears once it finally happens--- You got to love romantic movies! Now, since a brand new year always brings a truck load of fresh movies, today we're going to discus interesting romantic movies of 2011 that are either out and already hitting the videostores around the world, or to be released any day now. And here are 10 romantic movies of 2011 that are definitely worth checking out:

1 Just Go with It

Wanna see Adam Sandler playing the role of a plastic surgeon and Jennifer Anniston pretending to be his soon to be ex-wife? Well, hop to your video store or place your order at Amazon because this movie is so new, it still has that plastic foil hanging from the edges! The story goes something like this- Adam Sandler tries to hook up with a teacher, ends up lying to her and asks his assistant (played by Jennifer Aniston) to "go with it". Assistant's kids somehow appear too, making the situation quite interesting and they all end up spending the weekend in Hawaii where unexpected things start happening.

2 Red Riding Hood

Released on March 11th, this romantic fantasy is said to be one of the most interesting and unusual romantic movies of 2011. Well, I can't deny or confirm this, as I haven't watched it yet but I can tell you a little bit about it in hopes you'll be intrigued as I am. The story involves a couple in love fighting to stay together despite the heroine's pre-arranged marriage. You have a lot of drama, a werewolf and Twilight-like elements you'll love.

3 Beastly

The popular Beauty And The Beast fairytale received its modern remake on March 18th so, if you're lucky, you might still be able to enjoy the "wow" effect of seeing it on the big screen. A well-known story of a generally handsome man turned into an ugly beast in order to make amends for his past behaviors is now set in New York so, if you enjoy a good fantasy with a modern twist, definitely check it out.

4 What's Your Number?

Anna Faris is playing the role of a woman who suddenly becomes quite aware of the number of her past lovers and decides to take a break from dating and pay them all a visit. The general idea isn't really new and this might not be one of the best comedies or romantic movies of 2011 although the release date (april 29th) might be very convenient in case you don't have any plans for the holidays.

5 From Prada to Nada

Ah, the classic "rich girls turned poor" story full of funny, romantic and emotional scenes. I, personally, enjoy this type of movies, not just because they are funny but because they teach that money isn't everything and that you must be proud for who you are. Hope you'll enjoy watching sisters Nora and Mary, adapting to the world outside Beverly Hills only to find out their financial loss turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to them.

6 Gnomeo and Juliet

One of the saddest, most beautiful Shakespearean tragedies got its animated, and I dare to add, more colorful and funnier version with Emily Blunt and James McAvoy borrowing their voices to a cute gnome couple fighting to give their love story a happy ending despite the fuss going on around them. Will they succeed? Will Gnomeo and Juliet live happily ever after? Well, don't expect me to ruin it for everybody! Just watch it!

7 The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn

Are you ready for another Twilight sequel? I bet you are! Expect a lot of action, a lot of romance, a lot of Robert Pattinson, great story and everything that made us fall in love with the popular saga. Now, if I understood correctly, the release date is still far away although I have no doubts it will be one of the most romantic movies of 2011.

8 Midnight in Paris

Different is not always better and that's what you're about to find out soon. It might be a long wait because this romantic comedy is scheduled for September, although I hope it turns out great. The directors are promising us a lot of laughs, breathtaking moments in one of the most romantic cities in the world and a great story so; until the movie hits the cinemas, let's just keep it that way.

Have you watched some of these brand new, supposedly best romantic movies of 2011 and were they as good as you hoped? I can't wait for the Twillight sequel and I'm definitely going to rent "Just Go With It" one of these days!
